Microsoft Confirms Surface and Windows AI Event For March 21

The digital “New Era of Work” event that is scheduled for March 21 at 9:00 AM PDT / 11 AM CST / 12 PM EST will feature both hardware and software announcements and how it will be “advancing the new era of work with Copilot.” It also plans to show “the latest in scaling AI in your environment with Copilot, Windows, and Surface.”

Although there is no official word, Microsoft is likely to launch work-focused new Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 devices for business at the event, as per media reports. It is also expected to focus on the upcoming AI (artificial intelligence) improvements in Windows 11.

The commercial versions of Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 will have minor technical features, according to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans. However, the consumer versions of the Surface Pro 10 will offer a consumer OLED display, which is expected to be revealed later this spring.

Additionally, the new Surface Laptop 6 will reportedly include a new design with thinner bezels, rounded screen corners, a new haptic trackpad, Copilot Key, and a port selection featuring two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port.

Both Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6  are rumored to be powered by Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Elite-based processors, with the Intel version coming in April, followed by the ARM model in June.

The Redmond giant is also working on an “AI Explorer” feature that will act as an advanced Copilot and turn everything to search specific moments within a timeline using natural language queries.

There are chances that Microsoft could officially announce the next major Windows 11 2024 update, known as Windows 11 version 24H2, at the event on March 21, 2024.

Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming Surface products!
