Insomniac Games, the developer of the upcoming action-adventure game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has announced that the official preload for the game is live now exclusively on the current-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5) starting Friday, October 13th.

While the game is set to release on October 20th, you can preload it right away on PS5 so that you can start playing as soon as it launches worldwide next week.

 

PlayStation, too, took to their official X account to alert fans that they can go ahead and preload Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man 2 is a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and a follow-up to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). In this game, the two protagonists, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, will face new threats together as protectors of New York City and save their own lives and loved ones.

They will combat various villains, including a private militia led by mercenary Kraven the Hunter, the monstrous Lizard, and the extra-terrestrial Venom symbiote.

Steps To Preload Spider-Man 2 On PlayStation 5

Only those who have pre-ordered Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 can preload the game on their console. To preload the game, you need to follow the below steps:

  • Go to the PlayStation Store or your PlayStation 5 Game Library.
  • Search for Spider-Man 2 on “Your Collection” page or select the game via the main banner.
  • Once done, you need to click on the Download button to start preloading.

While the developer did not reveal the estimated game size, the Spider-Man 2 download game size is expected to be around 86.268 GB on the PS5 for the game’s Standard Edition at launch (via VideoGamer).

Since the download is expected to take a considerable chunk of space on the PlayStation 5’s storage, it is advisable to clear at least 100 GB of space in your PlayStation 5’s SSD to avoid any potential problems while preloading the game.

Those who have yet to pre-order Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 can still visit the official store of PlayStation to pre-order their game. Spider-Man 2’s Standard Edition launch version, costing $69.99, is available in both physical and digital formats. To pre-order the physical edition, you can visit Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, Target, and PS Direct.

Pre-ordering Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Standard Edition version will offer fans an early unlock of Arachknight Suit for Peter Parker with three additional color variants, an early unlock of Shadow Spider Suit for Miles Morales with three additional color variants, an early unlock of Web Grabber gadget and three skill points.

Further, the Digital Deluxe edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, costing $79.99, will include the game, all the pre-order incentives, as well as 10 unique suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two additional skill points.
