When is the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) coming out? This is the question lingering over every GTA fan’s mind ever since Rockstar Games, the creator of the GTA series, confirmed that the game is under development.
New Leak Reveals GTA 6 Release And Announcement Date
While rumors and reports suggest that GTA 6 might see a 2024 or 2025 release, Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about the release date. However, a recent leak by Rockstar’s publisher, Take-Two Interactive, suggests that the game might get a 2024 release, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of GTA V.
The new “leaked” voice clip rumored to be from Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick talks about the announcement date of the upcoming game as October 23, 2023, as well as the release date as October 2024.
The voice clip first appeared on X (formerly known as Twitter), which was uploaded by GTA 6 SPAM (@GTA6posts) on September 2, 2023, as a video file without visuals.
While the uploader of the video has claimed that the leaked voice is authentic, there were divided views from the fans of the upcoming game. Some dismissed it as AI-generated and fake, while others were convinced it was genuine.
The leaked voice note has since been taken down from the profile by Take-Two Interactive due to copyright strike and is no longer audible.

However, a brief summary of the voice note is transcripted as below:
“The plans for the next Grand Theft Auto game are set, and we expect Rockstar Games to…launch a new title in Fiscal 2025…October 24 to be precise, actually. An announcement is expected to be coming from Rockstar’s side very soon this coming October 23 we expect a high percentage of that $8 billion in net bookings to come from the next Grand Theft Auto. So hopefully, everything goes as planned, and the strategy for VI goes the way we expect it to.”
The last update that Rockstar Games gave on GTA 6 was on February 4, 2022. Apart from this confirmation, no details have been revealed from the game’s creator yet.
While there have been leaks and rumors buzzing around the release or announcement date of the upcoming game, everything remains speculative until we receive an official confirmation from Rockstar Games.
